This sourdough class up'd my bread game
I loved attending the sourdough workshop at the Flourist a few weeks ago. I had already tried my hand at baking bread and maintaining a starting since the pandemic and could make sourdough, but knew it could be better. As I was completely self-taught, this class gave me opportunities to ask questions, learn from the pros in real life, and has significantly improved every aspect of how I make bread from feeding my starter, to creating more opportunities for steam when I make my bread - I now keep my dough in the fridge or as long as possible and put the cold dough into the hot Dutch oven. This has helped my rise. I highly recommend this sourdough workshop for newbies to people who have been baking bread at home but just want to refine their skills. I went home with 2 loaves of bread that night, and a lot of new knowledge I am now using to level up my bread game. THANK YOU, Flourist!
Bread making at Flourist
Loved my bread making class! It was so great to go through everything step-by-step, and actually learn and feel what to do. I have struggled with making bread for a long time and this class really sealed the learning process for me. Campbell, the instructor was great. The flour you work with is so much better and the store just has amazing food. Thanks Flourist!
Super Informative and Fun!
This class is super fun and I am able to learn a lot of techniques that I can apply at home! Highly recommended:)
Great class for new and mid-level home bakers
I highly recommend this class to anyone looking to either get started with sourdough baking or who has some experience but wants to improve and learn more. I did this class with my mom. She was the newbie sourdough baker and I was the one with a bit more experience. I wanted to see if the class would help me improve things like shaping and scoring while refreshing my memory as to the process. Happy to report it did all that and more! I also really liked that we got a print-out of the instructions to take home with us, so I didn't have to take notes. Me and my mom were one of a couple of "pairs" who attended the class, but there were also a number of solo folks. Everyone chatted with one another and the vibe was relaxed and fun while also being really informative. It is a long class at the end of a work day, which made me wonder whether I would be too tired to benefit from it or enjoy it, but I am so happy I signed up. Highly, highly recommend!
Phenomenal Sourdough Baking Class !
I am so glad I took this class. Taking this class got me in touch with my roots. It really connected me to my family history with agriculture that I forgot about. It was an amazing experience, I learned so much from Janna, Shira, and Campbell. The whole night was informative, educational, and not to mention fun! I learned so much about baking sourdough. As a beginner who never attempted baking sourdough, I feel more confident in making it at home. This course is worth the money and I am so glad that I took it :)
