Mixed Heritage Beans

Premium, 100% traceable, organically grown mixed Heritage Beans are grown in Pemberton by our friends at Grizzly Farm. 

These pretty beans are a quick cooking alternative to canned beans as they cook up surprisingly fast on the stovetop. They are high in protein and fiber and are perfect for use in soups, salads, and bean dips.

To cook these beans, soak for 6-24* hours in plenty of cold water. When ready to cook, drain and rinse in a colander with cold water. Transfer the soaked beans to a pot and cover with at least 6 inches of cold water. Bring to boil on high heat, and keep at a rolling boil for at least 10 minutes and then turn down the heat to maintain a gentle rolling boil until the beans are soft, roughly 30 minutes. Drain, rinse well with cold water and use as desired. 

Store for future use in the fridge in a container with plenty of cold water to cover. Stored this way, your beans will stay fresh for up to a week. Change the water once or twice throughout the week, rinsing the beans in between to maintain freshness. 

These gorgeous beans are perfect for soups, dips, and salads.

Note: it is recommended to pick over thoroughly for small stones as these are from a small local farm.
