Our Flourist Navy Beans are a great alternative to canned beans as they cook up fast and are high in protein and fibre. Their texture makes them ideal for soups, dips, and salads. The creamy texture of our Navy Beans also makes them ideal for blending into delicious dips.
Our Flourist Navy Beans are grown by H&M Farms in Altona, Manitoba. Learn more about our farmers here.
Boiling Method
Soak Navy Beans for 6-24 hours before cooking in plenty of cold water. When ready to cook, drain and rinse in cold water. Transfer to a pot and cover with plenty of cold water. Bring to a boil on high heat, cover, and reduce the heat to maintain a gentle rolling boil. Cook until the beans are soft and tender, about 30-35 minutes. Drain and rinse well with cold water.
Instant Pot
We do not recommend cooking Flourist Navy Beans with an Instant Pot. We tried many times are we unsuccessful in creating consistently cooked beans.
Storage Tips
Once the Navy Beans are cooked, we recommend to store them in the refrigerator covered in cold water. Navy Beans will keep for up to 5 days stored this way. We recommend to rinse the beans and replace the cold water every few days if you are storing them for more than 2-3 days.
