Learn Sourdough with Sarah Owens!
Join James Beard awarded author and baker Sarah Owens for a workshop focusing on the flavour and particular character of baking sourdough with freshly milled Flourist flours.

In this 3 1/2 hour class, you will make a whole grain starter and learn to bake sourdough bread using a recipe from Sarah's latest book Heirloom as a guiding principle for considering hydration and fermentation requirements.

You will learn stenciling and scoring techniques on a loaf to bake in class and also take home dough to bake in your own oven. All materials are provided and space is limited!

This class is best suited to beginning home bakers or those with some experience using sourdough. Snacks from Sarah's latest book Heirloom will be provided along with signed copies for purchase.

When: November 9th, 2019, 7PM -10:30PM
Where: Flourist, 3433 Commercial Street, Vancouver, British Columbia

Cost includes a bag of Flourist Sifted Red Spring Wheat Flour, a sourdough starter jar, a Round banneton, and a Wood Handled Bench Scraper.
