Berrymobile Fruit Distribution is a Vancouver-based distribution company, supporting and promoting fresh fruit produced by farmers in British Columbia.
Berrymobile's owner, Rob Smith, opened Berrymobile’s first fruit stand in North Vancouver back in 2000. Today, they operate a handful of fruit stand locations in some of Vancouver’s busiest parks and supply the city's best retailers and restaurants.
They focus on sourcing high-quality, ethically-grown, and sustainable berries, cherries, tree fruit, and more.
First developed in 1952 at Washington State University, Rainier is a premium sweet cherry variety celebrated for its distinctive golden-yellow skin blushed with red and its exceptionally sweet, low-acid flavour.
Named after Mount Rainier, this cultivar is a cross between Bing and Van cherries, combining the large size and firmness of its parents with a uniquely delicate taste profile.
Rainier cherries thrive in the Okanagan’s warm days and cool nights, which enhance their natural sugars and crisp texture. Highly prized for their rarity and visual appeal, they are harvested at peak ripeness in mid-summer and enjoyed fresh as a seasonal delicacy.
