Marquis Wheat is a close relative to Red Fife but this crop is higher in protein and makes for exceptional bread baking. It was the bread wheat of choice in the early 1900's.

Marquis blends the strength and performance of our Red Spring flours with the deep flavour of our Red Fife flours. It also is lower in the allergenic component of gluten than modern wheats, which means it performs very well in bread baking but is easier for people with gluten sensitivity to digest.

All of our freshly milled flours are stoned milled to order from organic and GMO free grains, grown in Canada by farmers we know. We recommend storing our fresh flours in the fridge or freezer to maintain freshness.

Our Philosophy

Food Creates Connection

Canada produces some of the worlds best grains and beans. The world markets know this and a majority of these crops are highly sought after for export to other countries. Canada's hard red spring wheat is especially renowned for producing exceptional results in bread baking and pasta making.

Canadian-grown crops are valued for their safety, quality and high performance. Flourist exists to connect consumers with this high quality product and tell the stories of the families growing it.
