High in protein, Red Spring wheat is the go-to grain for bread baking flour, but also cooks nicely for salads and soups. Red Spring wheat accounts for the majority of wheat grown in Canada — and has garnered a reputation internationally for its superior milling and baking qualities. Mill it, sprout it, soak it, or boil it whole.
To cook, combine 1 part Wheat Berries with 4 parts water. Bring to a boil and simmer for 45-60 minutes or, until tender but firm.

It was wonderful to have both again from Flourist. SPUD unfortunately does not deliver FLourist products on Vancouver Island.

Simple Cooked Wheat Berries ( using the recipe on the box)
We have enjoyed the wheat berries twice since receiving them . They are so delicious cooked and served alongside different winter vegetables that are baked with 1/4 cup drizzled olive oil in a sheet pan . We also like cooked wheat berries served with Flourist black beans and an oven baked 1/2 chicken ;One more :they make a flavorful addition:to a large green salad when tossed with a French Vinaigrette.
