Spiced Artichoke Hummus

One can never have too many ways to dress up hummus, especially during the holidays when celebrations are plenty. Canned artichoke hearts add another layer of flavour and texture to our Classic From-Scratch Hummus, and would make a simple and delicious dish to bring to any party. 

Spiced Artichoke Hummus
2 cups cooked Flourist Kabuli Chickpeas
1/4 cup sesame tahini
5-6 canned artichoke hearts (not in oil), quartered, reserving a few for garnish
4 tbsp fresh lemon juice, more to taste 
1 tsp salt
1/4 cup olive oil, more to taste 
up to 1/4 cup water
1 clove fresh garlic, optional
1/2 tsp cumin powder 
1/4 tsp cayenne powder

a handful of quartered artichoke pieces
2 tbsp olive oil
1/2 tsp paprika 
fresh parsley, chopped

Combine all ingredients except the water in your blender or food processor and start blending. Add the water as the blender is running until you get a nice smooth texture. Transfer to a serving bowl or container and keep in the fridge until ready to use.

Sprinkle extra artichoke heart quarters over top before serving. Drizzle with olive oil, paprika, and fresh parsley.
