Fantastic - Just 2 Suggestions....

The ordering and delivery experience was great. Love the idea of the product and it was ordered as a birthday gift to an expert baker friend who loves artisan breads and baked goods. They even order flour from France for baguettes so you can imagine how perfect this is as a gift. No feedback yet on the results and awaiting baked goods to come back! My only suggestions would be to create additional/optional print materials for gift giving. Right now all of the info is just on line so I had to pull it down and create a brochure and gift card to include inside the gift - something that included the guideline for what flour to use when and info about the farmers and Company. Aso, I purchased a wooden box and placed shredded filler inside along with the 3 bags of flour - to create a gift packaging that carried the imagery and rustic feel of the Flourist to the entire gift. It would be amazing if there were branded wooden boxes perhaps even with a lining for flour storage that could be ordered along with the flour - similar to these https://woodbox.ca/woodbox/portfolio Love the concept and my friend was just thrilled to receive artisan Canadian flour as a gift!

The flavour & freshness!

We've been baking sourdough for the past few months with a variety of flours. After following the Flourist on their IG account, I finally opted to order the starter bundle from the Flourist even though I live in Victoria. Shipping was fast and efficient. The flour is so fresh and our breads have been amazing. We are also using many of their recipes, in particular all versions of galettes. We'll be ordering more!

Starter Flour bundle

So far I have used the Red Fife and the Sifted Red Spring flour and I love it! I have used both of them in my regular recipes and had success each time. I used the Red Fife to make my biscuits and while the rise wasn't quite as high the texture and flavour were superior. Their enjoyment level was extended past the first few hours out of the oven to the extent that we even enjoyed the leftover biscuits the next day which often isn't the case with regular grocery store flour. With fall approaching I am working on a recipe for pumpkin muffins and ginger cookies using the Rye flour. I look forward to posting about it on my facebook and instagram accounts, in my opinion more people need to know about this better flour option. I am converted and need to get some 00 flour to try next for my pasta and pizza recipes. Thank you for what you do.
