Flourist Whole Grain Rye Flour is milled from organically grown Rye from Vonda Saskatchewan. This flour contains 100% of the original grain, and is rich in fibre and flavour. Use it in cookies, breads and any recipe that calls for rye flour. You can also supplement sifted flours to add a whole grain rye flavour and nutrition boost.

Our hand-crafted Austrian stone mill slowly and gently crushes grain at a low temperature, a process that produces beautiful, aromatic, nutritious and delicious flour. The product bears little resemblance to the typical, highly processed shelf stable flour found on grocery store shelves. You’ll notice the difference right away: the colour is natural and the aroma is unmistakable.

We recommend storing our fresh flours in the fridge or freezer to maintain freshness.

Love this flour for my sourdough boules

What a beautiful flour! When I first got it I made the 100% rye bread using The Flourist recipe - dense and delicious (although too salty for my taste). I have also been adding it to my sourdough boules. I do 150 g rye, 250 g of WWF, and 600 g Sifted Red Spring Wheat Flour (bread) flour. I feel like I finally perfected my sourdough bread. FYI - I do 70% hydration - I can't manage any wetter with the bannatons.

Very satisfied

For no reason I can pinpoint, my sourdough starter was becoming listless and less active. I needed some rye flour I could trust, and Flourist came to the rescue! The starter perked up nicely, and I’m happily baking again.
