Our French Lentils are organically grown by Dwayne Woolhouse at Crestview Organic Farms near Assiniboia, SK, and by Will Robbins in Laura, Saskatchewan.
First cultivated in the Haute-Loire region of south-central France, French lentils are known for their peppery flavour, slate-blue and green colour and firm texture. They hold their shape well, making them the go-to lentils for soups and salads. Like all legumes, French lentils are packed with nutrition and are an excellent meat alternative.
Cook using 1 part lentils to 3 parts water. Bring to a boil and cook until soft, about 25-30 minutes. Drain.

I love using lentils in my various fresh salads. The French Lentils from Flourist are perfect as they don't get all mushy. The taste is not only delicious, but adds that nutty flavour to my salads. I also tried using these lentils in an Indian Lentil soup, and they just made it so much better because you can still taste the distinct flavour of the lentils even after adding various spices.
I just tried your french lentils and really enjoy them. I marinated them after cooking and used some of them in a hot dish with carrots, onions and celery. The remainder of the marinated lentils I used in a salad for lunch with some hard boiled eggs , tomatoes and feta. Definitely glad I decided to try them instead of just using my regular green lentils. Lovely peppery flavour.
