Premium, 100% traceable, Canadian-grown Black Beans.
Our Black Beans are grown by the H&M Farms in Altona, Manitoba.
Our Black Beans are a quick cooking alternative to canned beans as they cook up surprisingly fast on the stovetop. Black Beans are high in protein and fiber and are perfect for use in soups, salads, and bean dips. You'll notice the amazing texture of our Black Beans right away.
To cook our Black Beans, soak for 6-24* hours in plenty of cold water. When ready to cook, drain and rinse in a colander with cold water. Transfer the soaked beans to a pot and cover with at least 6 inches of cold water. Bring to boil on high heat, and once boiling turn heat to maintain a gentle rolling boil until the beans are soft, roughly 35-40 minutes. Drain, rinse well with cold water and use as desired.
Store for future use in the fridge in a container with plenty of cold water to cover. Stored this way, your beans will stay fresh for up to a week. Change the water once or twice throughout the week, rinsing the beans in between to maintain freshness.

We had been having trouble getting groceries in a remote location and stumbled upon this gem! Not only were the black beans the best we've ever tasted (we like to make Kemp's black beans fairly regularly), but the order came surprising quickly. We will be regular customers now! I am happy there is a bit of a silver lining to things- so happy to support local businesses/growers, especially those tied to creating better resiliency in our food system.
Highest quality, Canadian grown product and delivery is so fast! Wonderful local company!
We tried making a first batch of Mexican style frijoles with some of these beans and they turned out perfectly, like the best we’ve ever had. They’re not inexpensive, but if you are looking for a top quality end result, these are a good choice.
I haven't had a bad experience yet. These black beans soak to be beautiful purple jewels and then cooked to become deliciously creamy black beans to be used for everything from a chili to brownies. SO GOOD.
These are delicious, quick-cooking black beans. Thank you H&M Farms!
